I saw later part of this movie on TV last week and Karthik's performance was quite impressive and the heroine who acted the wife's role looked pretty (what's the name?).

The portion of the movie I saw was above average as well (had they chopped off some of the villain scenes / fights etc, it would have been quite interesting). Karthik is great in Pooveli and that actress is Kousalya.

Karthik pulled off a great performance in Gokulathil Seedhai too.

Karthik - A very good actor who ruined his career due to lack of discipline. I like him way better than some of his peers during the 80's like Prabhu, Mohan etc. My favourite Karthik movie list pretty much matches with those from Nerd/Venkiram.

But as AV pointed out, I too thought he was too good in "Amaran" eventhough the movie itself was a flop - thanks to an ordinary screenplay for a hyped movie.

That is NOT Karthik film.

That is Bharathiraja's 'Kaadhal Oviyam'. Hero name is Kannan, a wonderful performer.

I am suprised no mentioned 'Alaigal Oiyvathillai' :suprised:
It had terrible acting from all concerned parties, for which BR must not entirely escape blame

Fine actor, I liked many of his movies but of late his performance in Suyamvaram as an absent minded doctor made me to He was fantastic in that movie though his role was small.

"Interview-ku edhukku lungi-laam kattitu vandhrukaanga?"

I feel the problam with Karthik, is that all his roles were of 'Lover boy' roles.. He excelled in that along with comedy, but he did not attempt at various roles, with the exception of Agni natchathiram and amaran.

It is really sad to see such atalent being wasted , when we are flooded with loads of 'Hero wannabes' these days
