Some of his latest movies were really good and had some comedy scenes. He is still a director's actor. It's in director's hands to get the best out of him!

I would say, he is the most wanted comedian by producers & directors. His work ranges from small budget to high budget Endhiran. The film which gave me this thought is Vaamanan.... & from then onwards, he had 2 more releases till date (Modhi Vilayadu & Malai Malai) & most of the reviews gave good opinion about his comedy. Santhanam goes to Bollywood
IndiaGlitz [Thursday, August 06, 2009] Santhanam is literally going places. He will soon be seen in a Hindi film titled Chinnoo Mannoo, which is simultaneously made in Tamil too. “The producer of the movie, who earlier made Khakhee, is introducing his son in Bollywood and Tamil industry through the film. I play his friend in both the versions,” says the comedian. In a lighter vein, he adds, “Hindi dialogues are not so difficult for me. It takes just five takes for me to okay a shot. In that disastrous movie where a pigeon was the prime mover and Jayam Ravi was notionally the hero, Santhanam and Ravi are pushed out of the police station by constables when they are ostensibly protesting - santhanam to a constable: "yov, thoppaiyAla thaLLadha, kaiyAla thaLLu" it's a old joke but the new bottle is quite attractive. |
