NandakumAranI is instantly likeable. Nice singing and neat arrangements. Unna kolla pOren's also not bad (LM, BhavathArini nesamAve nalla pAdIrkAnga)
The rest of the album, well, at least the first impression so far hasn't been that good... sumaar. The rhythms in Kalavuda is interestingly done.
However, the biggest problem, to me, is the lack of the 'period' feel (i really don't know what this exactly is, but the sound here doesn't seem quite right. Vada naattu vaada neraya adikkudhu).
The ARR influence is very apparent all through the album.

The posters look very interesting (but for some of the overtly loud expressions in some of 'em). Aravan trailer on google throws up Raavan trailer (damn!). Can someone post the link here, please?

Saw The Audio release function in Jaya tv.. Thalaivar ARR pesunaru .. expected him to talk more, but short a pesitu poitaru ... many biggies were there . Mani ratinam, bala chander, etc

The novel kAval kOttam (from which this movie got its moolakkadhai) has won sAhitya academy award this year...The writer is Venkatesan.
