Vetrimaran prefers Trisha to Shriya!
When director Vetrimaran signed up Dhanush for his new film it was said that announced that he was going to retain almost the same crew and cast of Polladhavan, except Divya Spandana. It was said that Shriya would play heroine as the character of the Anglo Indian girl suited her. But it is learnt that the director decided against casting her again for this flick because of issues with her dates, and she was already paired with Dhanush in her forthcoming Kutty. Now that Vetrimaran has opted for Trisha as the heroine. This is the first time that Trisha will pair up with Dhanush, in this film which will have music by GV Prakash Kumar. Shoot for the Madurai-based story is likely to begin next month. |

It's official: Trisha to pair Dhanush
Charming Trisha will pair with Dhanush for the very first time in the second venture of 'Polladhavan' director Vetri Maaran. The yet-to-be-named film will start shooting from the 22nd of this month in Madurai. Interestingly, Trisha would be playing a role which would be completely new to her. She plays a Madurai based Anglo Indian girl who eventually falls in love with a street smart 'loafer' Dhanush. A lot of effort is being made to bring out the authenticity of the characters. Apart from Trisha having to train as a pucca Madurai Anglo Indian, Dhanush too will appear in a never-seen-before appearance. The actor is currently preparing to be armed with the Madurai diction along with the necessary body language needed for the character. Though not much is known about the film, there are a few who say that the story is based on a real life incident that happened in Madurai decades ago. Vetri Maaran is known for his neat screenplay ability that brings about a stunning effect on audiences. If 'Polladhavan' stunned audiences narrating the story of a boy who finds his motorbike stolen, this new film is expected to have many twists and turns that have the potential to enthrall audiences. Not divulging much about the project, director Vetri Maaran said, 'Dhanush is a much bigger star now than he was when we worked for Polladhavan'. Would that also mean this new film would be much bigger than 'Polladhavan' Vetri Maaran? |

Dhanush and Trisha to tango in 'Aadu Kalam'
IndiaGlitz [Thursday, February 12, 2009] The cat is finally out of the bag….the film that brings Dhanush and Trisha together for the first time has been christened 'Aadu Kalam'. Directed by Vetri Maaran who had churned out 'Polladhavan' earlier, the film is expected to have a riveting storyline based on a real-life incident that happened decades ago in Madurai. As reported earlier, Dhanush is currently undergoing rigorous training to suit an intense role that would have all the makings of generating a spellbinding performance. He plays a Madurai youth and as reports have it, he would appear in a never-seen-before appearance. His mastery over the Madurai dialect is mighty important for the film and the lanky actor is keen to get it right. Dhanush is currently riding on a giant wave of success with a hat trick of hits. He sure would want to back this success with performances that would interest and appease audiences. Keeping this in mind, Vetri Maaran's style of filmmaking would most certainly be the right foil for Dhanush. Though just one film old, the 'Polladhavan' director has proved to be quite powerful with his style of narration. 'Aadu Kalam' will have Trisha playing an Anglo Indian girl who falls in love with Dhanush. Societal problems however are expected to play a major role in this love affair. Madurai plays such a pivotal role in the film that director Vetri Maaran has started an office in the Temple City to absorb the essence of the place to the fullest. Such a move is the first of its kind in the history of Tamil Cinema. 'Aadu Kalam' has already generated a lot of curiosity that Sun Pictures has acquired the yet-to-be-shot film and would be involved in marketed and distributing it. Shooting for the film begins in Madurai from the 22nd of this month. |
