Will Dhanush, Vetrimaran duo repeat the magic?
February 12, 2009 The earlier Polladhavan Combo Dhanush and Vetrimaran are joining hands for their next venture named 'Aadukalam'. The director Vetrimaran has done enough ground work in Madurai and is likely to start shooting from February 22 onwards. The movie is based on a true story. Dhanush is doing his homework to get his Madurai accent right, as this will play a major impact in the film. The movie is expected to concentrate on 'cock fight' famous in these parts of the region. This is one of the reasons why the director has chosen the name 'Aadukalam'. Riding high on success, Dhanush has to prove himself once again to the audience. The director though new with only one movie to his credit has gained appreciation for his style of narrating stories. As stated earlier in these columns, Vetrimaran has opened an office in Madurai especially for this film. This shows the involvement in the project and the audience can expect a treat from the duo once again. It is stated that the film will be marketed and distributed by Sun Pictures. It is expected that Trisha will act with Dhanush for the first time. |

Dhanush starts work on Aadukalam
By Moviebuzz | Tuesday, 24 February , 2009, 12:03 Articulate yet guarded, cheery yet serious, Dhanush has all the reasons to be on top of the world. Three hits in a row is not a joke for this young actor, who has seen the up’s and down of the industry. Dhanush is just back from Bangkok, where he spent the valentine weekend with his lovely wife Aishwarya. But its back to work for the young actor as he is in Madurai on location of his new film Aadukalam with director Vetrimaran who had given him that critically acclaimed box-office hit Pollathavan. Says Dhanush: “For me, every film or every role that I work on is special. But Aadukalam is super special to me and I would say that it is my dream project. I have always admired the directorial sense of Vetri and he has an innovative style of film making and has always attempted to explore something new”. Aadukalam has Trisha playing the female lead with young music director GV Prakash tuning the songs. Remember that Vetrimaran spent almost a year on the screenplay, script and dialogues which has a Madurai dialect. The film is one of those rare projects which has a bounded script. Adds Dhanush: “”I have a lot of positive vibrations while going through the script and I an all excited to work on it”. The cameraman is Vel Raj and the two crucial characters in the film are played by V. I. S. Jayabalan, Sri Lankan Tamil writer and political observer who makes his screen debut along with Kishore. |

Aadukalam has a positive energy: Dhanush
Prasanna Singh [February 25, 2009, 5:17:07 PM] Dhanush is busy in Madurai shooting for Aadukalam directed by Vetrimaran. Dhanush is quite happy to be working with Vetrimaran again, as he is the director who gave him a big break in Polladhavan. The actor stated that he feels a “positive vibration” working with Vetrimaran on the sets of Aadukalam. He expressed confidence that the film will definitely turn out as good as their previous venture Polladhavan. Aadukalam is supposedly based on true incidents that took place in Madurai. Vetrimaran had stayed in Madurai for almost 6 months to prepare the screenplay and sought the help of a professor friend to write the dialogues in Madurai dialect. Trisha plays an Anglo-Indian girl and Dhanush’s love interest in Aadukalam. G.V. Prakash composes the music. http://tamil.galatta.com/entertainme...ush_22554.html |

Dhanush who is leaving his comfort zone – Chennai. Most of Dhanush’s successful movies have been based in the city with the actor playing the typical irresponsible youth, mouthing the local slang to perfection. It has become a trademark Dhanush trait. But, this time he has chosen to go in for an experiment, leaving the city roads for the rustic lanes of Madurai and a more turbulent story with Aadukalam. The change of base to Madurai also necessitates a sea change in Tamil slang; Dhanush has reportedly trained hard to get the perfect Madurai accent. http://www.behindwoods.com/tamil-mov...ic-heroes.html

Aadukalam is not usual cinema Dhanush starrer Aadukalam is building up steadily among much speculation. Director Vettrimaran and Dhanush have already set the screen on fire with Polladhavan and their next venture Aadukalam is also expected to make it big. Speaking about the film, the director said that this is not a usual hero, heroine, villain story. He says this story is different and it does not reflect the positive and negative aspects in the characters, like the customary cinema. The audience will be in for a surprise if they come with an expectation to watch a habitual Tamil film. Vettrimaran also stated that the delay between his last film and his latest venture is because he took time to study Madurai. The movie is set in the backdrop of Madurai, where Dhanush plays the lead while Trisha plays Anglo-Indian lover. Writer VIS Jayabalan and Kishore also are in the cast. The second schedule of the film is progressing in Madurai http://www.behindwoods.com/tamil-mov...-15-06-09.html |
