Mohanlal the cartoon
Saturday September 8 2007 15:04 IST After Rajnikant’s ‘Sultan — The Warrior’, Mohanlal has signed up for his likeness to be used in an animation film made by Animation Dimensions. The actor has also agreed to dub for his character in the movie. We hear that another Bollywood actor has been roped in for a part in the same animation film, but no one’s confirming anything on that front. http://www.newindpress.com/sunday/su...People&rLink=0 |

Bollywood toons in, lines up big-ticket animation films
MOINAK MITRA TNN[ FRIDAY, JULY 06, 2007 03:32:36 AM] Siddharth Jain, animation head at Adlabs. The company already has two big ticket films lined up for release next year — the Rs 60-crore Sultan and the Rs 20-crore Gini n Jony. While Sultan, a Rajnikant biopic, is being co-produced by the iconic southern star’s daughter Soundarya from her Chennai-based Ocher Studios, Adlabs brings in the marketing muscle and distribution force. “For Sultan, Adlabs has fixed the same budget as the current rage Sivaji. This shows how animation is imitating and succeeding mainline action films,” claims a trade expert. http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/ |

yeah... the trailer looks very promising...and the trailer has the shade of "prince of persia" ....hmmm the only thing, that I am worried about is that .... if you take a look at Indian Animation ..well we are not up to standard as some of other counties, we are still in 2D animation, whichis pityful....from Hanuman to the new Ganesha movie .... I just hope that, the new Sultan is up to mark...and change the quality of our animation movies...
60 crores... COOL... |

‘I am a Rajnikanth Fanatic' - Soundarya Rajnikanth!
Friday, August 03, 2007 4:44:59 PM (IST) Aug 3: Millions across the globe might swear by Rajnikanth’s larger than life stunt sequences, but here’s a girl who is smitten by them the most. She is amongst the few who know the real Rajni from Rajnikanth—the superstar and is now all set to take his idiosyncratic style a step further. Graphic designer and younger daughter of the superstar, Soundarya Rajnikanth, is making India’s biggest animation flick with ‘Sultan—The Warrior’ starring an animated Rajnikanth.’ “When I was a kid I never read any novel, it always had to be a book or a story with an illustration. My mother has a collection of all the scribbles and drawings I’ve done,” chuckles Soundarya who is currently shooting for the film in London with her dad. Soundarya explains, “Animation is not considered as a mainstream medium here. That’s why I decided to break the barrier.” Interestingly, for Soundarya acting has never been a prerogative. “I am a director and a businessperson by nature. I’ve been offered films, but I choose to be behind the camera,” she smiles. Soundarya cannot stop raving about her father. “I am a Rajinikanth fanatic-’Badshah’, ‘Annamallai’, ‘Sivaji’. Soundarya shares, “We are very, very close! He means the world to me. As children we never got to spend much time with dad, but when we did, it was quality time. My mother never let us feel dad’s absence. She filled it.” She adds, “He interacts with me and participates in every move I make. I have never and will never do anything without his guidance and approval.” Lastly, ask her which is the one actor she loves apart from her father and her response isn’t surprising, “Amitabh Uncle!” she says. http://www.daijiworld.com/news/news_disp.asp?n_id=36505&n_tit=%91I+am+a+Rajnikant h+Fanatic'+-+Soundarya+Rajnikanth |

Bollywood biggies get animated about toons
2 Sep 2007, 0036 hrs IST,Anubha Sawhney,TNN While you're busy reading this, somewhere in a movie studio, scores of talented people are working on creating an animated likeness of the Boss. From the way he looks, walks, his gestures, the tilt of his head, the frown on his brow... superstar Rajnikanth is being transferred into an animated avatar that will hit the screens as Sultan The Warrior. The movie is presented by Adlabs and Ocher Studios. With Sivaji STILL running to packed houses, it isn't surprising to see why they picked Sultan as their maiden venture. "This is the first time in India that a superstar is being animated. Sultan will feature Rajnikanth as a mythological hero and promises to be replete with stylised Rajnikanth mannerisms and punch lines,'' says Sidhartha M Jain, head of animation, Adlabs Films Ltd. http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/D...ywood_biggies_ get_animated_about_toons/articleshow/2330104.cms |

Thrilled Rahman
A R Rahman is thrilled to score music for the animated movie Sultan The Warrior that would feature Rajnikanth. Says Rahman, ' composing music for an animated movie is no easy joke. It is very demanding. Everything is artificial in an animated film, but the music plays a prominent film.Music is no doubt a character in such movies. I am excited to work in the project that features Rajnikanth'. Rahman has been assigned to work for Golden Age, an English film, to be directed by Sheker Kapur. 'I know Shekher for over 10 years. We had worked for a advertisement commercial before. To be part of his movie is a great joy,' says Rahman. Grammy award- winner Craig Armstrong is also working with Rahman for the movie. http://newstodaynet.com/talkies/2608tt2.htm |
