The introduction of father Rajini in Netrikann! The jollufying smile when he sees the sexy models' picture No one could have done it better than Rajini!
I heard/read that that role is an inspiration from the role played by Sivaji ganeshan in some old movie

Default Opening Scenes in Tamil Films
I thought I will start a poll thread but I decided against it. I wanted to scribble a bit about the different opening / introduction scenes that I liked.

Please add your list to the thread.

Rajnikanth
Annamalai - When rajni is introduced as the new big shot in the business -

Baasha - When the Baasha character is introduced -

KamalHassan
Thevar Magan - When Kamal is re-introduced as the village chief after his father's death. The entire audience rejoiced the scene + IR's awesome BGM. It is a shame that I could not find this scene on youtube

Vijaykanth

Managara Kaval - Was it chandrabose who performed the BGM? Nice one.

Chinna Gounder - Again, I could not find this scene on youtube - but it is a classic introduction scene.

Vijay

Sachin - Decent movie and really nice introduction for Vijay.

Thirumalai - Nice opening scene followed by a dance with Lawrence ( )

Ajith

Dheena -

Billa - Very stylish

Vikram

Remo -
Anniyan -
Saami - Mass intro

Surya

Pithamagan - Train cheating

... more later

please add your list.

Definitely inspired...

....I think it's inspired from my own favourite NT opening in Gouravam. I invite fellow Gouvaram fanatic, rangan_08, to talk about the scene You too, NOV.

i guess u r meaning the mannerism of Chakravarthy and Justice are similar.....if yes, then IMO, this is fine tuning

note: I have seen both the movies many time, but never thought in the angle of inspiration.

The opening. Not showing the protagonist, the POV camera and all.

Performance inspiration oru pakkam, both film deal with father/son (Gouvaram nephew, but like son) battle due to father's character (Arrogance/Womanising). Mattapadi, Gouvaram oru imayam, Netrikann is a classic.
