After watching Yes, Minister last night, I was trying to think of movies that are great because of their dialogue.
There are movies famous for their speeches, like Parashakthi or Kattabomman, but that's not quite the same thing. There are movies which are famous for their jokes. Something like Thai Maman has similar ambitions to Yes, Minister, but the execution is not nearly anywhere as good. The last time I rewound to listen to dialogue again, it was a comedy track with MS Bhaskar as a poetry-quoting bachelor. (How often does anyone not Bharatiar get quoted?) |
