The man just can't like anything. One has to try and empathize with his angst existence in this impossible world of ours. One has to decide where to start laughing. |

Oh ! appidiyA. Trailer dummy-A irundhuchu IMO, the movie should have been a 2 hr entertainment and the rest half hour is just for the sake of extending the screenplay. Jananathan has done a lot of homework for this film, but lacked a basic homework that the censor board would mute the caste-ist and sexual conversation in the movie. I use the word sexual, because they are not double meaning dialogues but the straight forward ones . One who needs to be appreciated than anybody else is the Vidyasagar. He has done a wonderful job doing re-recording for this movie which I would say, has determined the best outcome of the movie. Movie starts of showing that India, Tamil Nadu in particular are preparing themselves to launch a satellite which will be used for the agricultural purposes. A group of foreign (western) terrorists were sent to destroy India's plans. The movie is how Jeyam Ravi, a "pazhankudi" forest officer deals with the terrorists and the end as we all know is inevitable. First half was all crap from my POV. It has become a trend in Tamil cinema, that if the girls are in hostel, they will be naughty and caste-ist dialogues by Ponvannan are in vein, as the censor board had more to say in the form of MUTE button. For a moment, I thought I was watching "Pesum Padam". The actual movie starts from the point where one of the girls notice two foreign guys in the dense forest and the story moves on. The movie would have been much more gripping if director had not added his cinematic ingredients to this movie. Oh I almost forgot, Jeyam Ravi (JR) has trimmed and shed a lot of kilos for this movie but unfortunately, his voice is a terrible drawback. The stunts should definitely be given an applause. I love the brutality shown by JR and yes, Vadivelu is also seen in the movie. Though there are some technical and judgemental flaws in the movie, this one is worth to watch.. |
