Performance nu eduthaalum i love it. People who fuss about "natural", "effortless" (if there's any such thing and whatever it means) acting, "look i'm trying to act" etc should be confronted with this performance (or many other performances by Nadigar Thilagam). Call it whatever you want, but i just loved it. This and Barrister. I mean if PR feels its over the top one can be fine with it but people who are naturalists should have problems with it. Otherwise, much is at stake!

Character nu eduthaalum, i love that tenacity, that arrogance. PP character-udaya sila gunadhisayangal ennudaya oru periyappavukku undu. So, its also a case of (i hate to use these phrases but still.. ) "relating to it", "identifying with..." etc...
I mean its a character whose traits which will annoy in good measure as well, but it is very powerful nevertheless.

Very well put. It exactly is a parallel portrayal of my grandfathers, who were such stereotypes. Since I was quite young when they retired, I vaguely remember their unintenionally funny yet helpless state they were in and the noises they were making. Very well written/played character, I would say.
