I like him when he does comedy. He was good in Chinna Mappilai. Mathapadi, he and the industry doesn't really know how to make use of his talent.
In the early days, he did some good comedy villain type of roles.

irundhaalum 'fan' appidingradhu periya vaarthai illaiyA ?

I liked him in Indira. Arguably his most convincing villain performance. Else he used to come close to the hero and speak through his teeth and look at the ceiling when doing that.

He briefly tried his hand at being a hero in ventures like Chinna Muththu.

I remember the torture fest very well. My brother and I are still blaming each other for the reason to watch it on big screen. This one role should have him on Plum's 5 ruppees thread. Super overacting-ya!

Yes. After Apoorva Sahothargal, there was some kinda boom time then. Kanda kanda padam vanthathu. We were addicted, watched at least one Tamizh film in big screen (then it was known as cineplex, the screens were smaller), and this film made it. So, should I blame Kamal for having me watch this disaster?

They also screened many dubbed films of Rajini's. I remember one with Jeethendra, when Rajini was still with side-vaakku. Walked out halfway. I did sit through Chinna Muthu, though. :P

Rajini did a lot of those films in the 80s that they show on Raj Digital Plus. To watch them in a theatre is the laudable grit of a fan.

In one of those movies Hrithik Roshan comes as a child artist and is - I am not exaggerating - stamped to death by Danny Denzongpa. What I would have given to have that remade in Tamil with Baby Shalini.

Bhagwaan Dada. I've watched parts of it in Hindi and Tamil. Yeah, Hrithik is stamped to death by Danny. This in a way helps Rajini when he goes face to face with Danny as he knows beforehand how dangerous the latter's boots are.

[Comprehension issues. Edited.]
