according to me the most powerful men in tamilcinema were
actors: kamalhaasan rajnikanth vijayakanth directors: maniratnam(has a production company of his own and can make any actor act in his film all over india) shankar(has a production company of his own and as a director also he is powerful) producers: Oscar Ravichandran-superstar of producers and distributors AVM Productions-No need to explain music directors: noone is powerful imho! but ilayaraja has a respect from cine superstars to political people... sorry arr fans....arr is not so close to kollywood or tamilnadupolitics ...thats reality! nadigar sangam: radharavi - ultimately powerful...he decides the victory of the president itself... last but not least! an old cinema technician....but the most powerful guy who can do anything in cinefield Dr.Mu.Karunanidhi this is the final list 1.Mu.karunanidhi 2.kamalhaasan 3.rajnikanth 4.vijayakanth 5.Oscar Ravichandran 6.AVM 7.Ilayaraja 8.Radharavi 9.Maniratnam 10.Shankar IMHO this is the list of most powerful men in Tamil cinema |

this is the final list ........u r telling political influence on tamil cinema??? then how come kamal is there??? Rajinikanth is definitely more powerful than kamal in terms of BO collections......moreover, IR -? no, i dont want ARR to be in the list, cos he is already there in bollywood list, but y IR??? bcos his whole family is in Music industry?? hmmmm........infact he is not in good terms with the ruling govt and has had problems with the previous govt as well...... so my top 10 will be something like this, which is purely on basis of box office power: 1. Rajinikanth 2. KamalHassan 3. Oscar Ravichandran 4. AVM 5. Ajith/Vijay 6. Ajith/Vijay 7. Shankar 8. Vijaykanth 9. New breed of directors like Selvaraghavan,GM,Bala,Vishnu,Ameer,Cheran,Lingusam y 10. Vadivelu (who made a movie run on his own and his comedy was a big part in Rendu's success) No Mani, No Politics, No ARR, No IR, No bias (this is my best unbiased post ) i dont think Mani has any power on BO now.....even if Guru becomes a earthquake, then too TN will be unaffected....

MADDY,Karunanidhi is a cinema technician and he writes story screenplay even now...thats why i added him! regarding rajni/kamal power is nearly same inside kollywood...both are respected as big stars inside kollywood and also respected by political circle!...what happened when ramadas commented wronglyon rajni and took away baba petti...nothing..thats the originalpower! ajith/vijay??????when a director and producer take a room and meratiify and this kollywood simply watched it as audience!...they are yet to become powerful inside kollywood...! new bred of directors vs maniratnam - there is a difference....madras talkies is a powerful production company for sure!and maniratnam eventhough rare in taking tail movies(like rajni) his movies are expected just for him...not like others!think abt mani working with big stars like kamal/rajni now...i dont think shivaji will stand before rajnimani combo done! vadivelu - his periodis geting over ...hez getting steriotypic! morover he dint rule like kavundar(who asked for a song of his own and got it...hewould dance with hero in songs as per request(order)) )u left out radharavi who decides the prsident of nadigar sangam for long! Ilayaraja for his respect and stature more than power! they dint mention BOX-OFFICE POWER ...they have mentioned only power! if it is box office power rajni,kamal,ajithvijay,surya,vikram all he way |

yes T_L, my list was purely box office power......sorry to have missed out Surya who will come somewhere in 9 along with new directors in my list......
 yes u r right Kamal is almost equal to Rajini....... .....difference is only a bit....reg mani - kashtam dhaan......i didnt include Radha ravi as he has no say on BO nowadays...... ur list is perfect i guess......
