Movies are parts and parcels of our life. Except that we wish we get many good parcels in our life.
We tend to identify with what's on screen, especially with what our favourite stars are doing on screen, including beating up bad guys approximately half the population of Singapore. If influences our life, though we don't go around beating half the population of Singapore. In my case, during younger days, I tried my level best to have Rajini's hair...and one thing both of us have in common now is still the hair. ![]() But those things aside, we are influenced by films and the stars, like it or not. The issue in hand now is this, the catch phrase, the favourite dialogue that we consciously and unconsciously (no, I don't mean talking while you are fainted) use in our daily life. Here are some of mine, according to the stars. NT: 1. Adanggopuraneey (when surprised..usually situation not severe). 2. Nnggoppuraney (Promise) 3. Nnggoppuraneynana (Really, I swear). 4. When teasing with pals, I’d use the favourite NT threat – Palla KaLuttiduveen, baduva Rasscall! and various other threats involving your teeth. Rajini: 1. Adenggappadiyappa! (Taken from Guru Sishyan). 2. Athu (the original soft Rajini version). 3. the ever famous Ithu Eppadi Irukku. 4. Rooommba mukkiyamm (this in the 90s, courtesy of Veera). Kamal: One nimit. Gounds: Adanggokkamakkaa! Vivek: Adappavigalaa. So, go ahead. List yours. Note that if you have hundreds of movie lines you use everyday, I have only one advice for you: Get help and stay away from me. Let the party begin.... |
