Mr. S. J. Suryah,

A kind request: please refrain from acting,

leave it to the professionals.

Thank you.

Nice to see that we agree, Maddy. I saw all the criticism. Whether or not he is good, I think there is something different about his performance. I like his voice...clear and masculine. This is his, what, third or fourth movie as an actor by now?

His acting style is different, maybe outdated, but he definitely is giving something that other's aren't. I haven't seen Vyabari, but I saw the clip where he shouts at his wife for interrupting him during a meeting. I like the performance there. Maybe the other scenes he is irritating.

So, in conclusion, I don't know he is a good actor or not, because I am confused with the current standard of acting. But I am fascinated and willing to watch him.

Rakesh...the reason why they dunt like his acting is not because he is horrible..but because of his close proximity with heroines and his looks...i too find his acting abit different and appreciative but i dunt like the subjects he acts in

Even though its a opinion...dunt you think that maybe because of his looks and his age the influence of him being a bad actor might be high?...i saw some scenes of him and and he did quite ok...not so good but still acceptable...

SJ Suriya is 'pyar-dhin-jao-gendh'. Avanum Avan padamum.

Double meaning . Naan avanoda oru padamum 10 mins mela paathathillai. Thaanag mudiyathu. And mind you its not something to do with looks. I have always appreciated Cheran as an actor. Intha payan asingamana padam edukaratha oru polappa vechurukkan.

IMO, IF he directs a movie, even a new face would have made his later movies tolerable to a certain extent. I still feel that he can make a strong comeback in direction. Let us see
I agree with u selva. He is a good director when he is not directing himself. He is one of the talented and hardworking guy in the industry.
Hope he comes with a bang in his next directional venture. Heard that it is for children

the problem with sj surya is he is too enthusiastic. he feels he is already a superstar like rajini,a great actor like sivaji ,a superb dancer like prabu deva or fights like jackie chan. the fact is he is too far from these people .thinks too much of himself wants to compete with all the young heroes and irritate othrs with his gimmicks
.but as a directoir he takes up nouvelle concept and his tyle of narration has always been different.

Well, I hope that aarvam takes a proper direction. Industry is currently healthy with talents (younger), so I hope he can do something about it. He has a great list of talents to chose from as a director.

As an actor, he just need to do some serious polishing work. Some good director can put him on leash and sculpt him. Then, he can be a better actor.

yes, wat joe and karthik told abt SJS is pretty true....remember one itnerview of ARR where he told - SJS used to be so excited during composing.......ARR, many times had to control him.......idhu pannalaama sir, adhu podalaama sir-nnu natchu panniduvaaraam .........he also told, he has pretty good musical acumen....

another incident, which made me his admirer - to get a cinema chance, he fell in front of Bagyaraj's speeding car.... ......he loves cinema and wants to breathe, eat, sleep, drink and think abt it always.....a true cinema fan
