But on a serious note. Have you, yourself noticed that in all of the 'past life recollections', the asian will remember an asian, the european, a european, the african, a african, so on and so forth?
yes

but the rebirthers will reply the consciousness chose to be reborn there

although babies are born without any knowledge; the rebirthers claim when the disembodied consciousness is floating in outerspace, it chooses its parents

i think with the appropriate meditative insight, the mind can know there is no rebirth afterlife

Yes! Though I do have a feeling, should the past life science ever have a breakthrough, that it would be... All minds of all life are connected, at least on a planetary level, sort of like what one of the founders of psychology propsed, a world unconcious. Could explain why a race is more likely to remember a life of that same race.

Ha! I would not choose to be human. I would see all the other wonderful worlds full of life and different societies, and plop my conciousness right into the prince of a kingdom! Then repeat process over and over again, world to world, galaxy to galaxy.

I like that Monk. And yes he does actually have something useful to say, though I could only get through about half as Avatar is on FX right now.

And that monk was lost, I believe, in the superstition. He never did reply to what I had mentioned about...
the monk was probably treating you like a two year old. monks often do that.

here is something beneficial. in the video, Gavesako is refering to this sutta

I am definately not a child. I know what you mean. Priests do it often in christianity. Never really met a real Monk before.

I agree with you [FONT=Century Gothic] Aloka. I will puzzle through long suttas and that enough for me

As an aside, re re birth and reincarnation maybe some people get more confused by seeing the expressions as synonmns, or mutually exclusive.....................With metta[/FONT
