Why? There would 100 local kids scouring around picking up the lost golf balls in the woods and selling them back to the pro shop.

Young entrepreneurs at work.
A fond reminder of my first entrepreneurial venture. The local pub on the housing estate where I used to live had an off license attached to it (not sure if you have those in Australia, but an off license is basically a shop with a license to sell alcohol). Our off license used to sell bottles of fizzy drinks and when you took the empties back, you'd get a few pence for each bottle returned. The chap that owned the off license used to put the empties in a crate at the back of the shop, not realising there was a bloody great hole in his fence where you could stretch your hand in and grab the bottles back out.

Some evenings, those same bottles used to get returned 6 or 7 times. Over the counter, get paid then run to the back of the shop to grab the bottles back out of the crate again. It's stuff like this that that's kept me safe from Nigerian scammers all these years later.

Do they have like GPS trackers on the ball or something. Would be bloody awful if they all get lost in the wilderness.
