Yeah, me too. I can drive one in a pinch but I really wouldn't recommend coming along as a passenger unless you like being jerked around. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/ninja.gif

Ngwkgczx 03-07-2010 02:52 AM

There wasn't an option for "I'll end up killing the car if it's standard"

G778G9P0 03-07-2010 02:59 AM

no but i never tried to learn

bredkumanfirst 03-07-2010 03:10 AM

Nope. I have never tried and I don't plan to anytime soon. I prefer the car do the work.

ThisIsOK 03-07-2010 03:12 AM

Yes, of course I can.http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/3gears.gif
Doesn't everybody?http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...es/biggrin.gif

RsQhyZyR 03-07-2010 03:37 AM

I burnt a clutch learning, does that count?
and no I still can't

asharbiq 03-07-2010 03:45 AM

Yes. I can. However.... I won't drive one in the winter snow/ice nor will I go near hills, valleys, or mountains.

Other than that..... I'm good to go. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...es/biggrin.gif

AcecePesFeacy 03-07-2010 04:13 AM

I actually prefer it to an automatic.

Assentesy 03-07-2010 04:23 AM

Yuppers. The first thing I learned to drive was a manual old brown ford truck. I learned by first being taught the gears. Then was taught how to work in the clutch. As soon as I could reach I was doing it all by myself. I have been driving since I was atleast 10, but legally since I was 14 lol. The joys of growing up in an AG state.

KignPeeseeamn 03-07-2010 04:38 AM

I can, but I haven't driven one in quite a long time. I do enjoy the tiptronic system in my Optima though http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ilies/wink.gif Clutchless manual shifting FTW

Metrujectiktus 03-07-2010 04:45 AM

nope! dont know how and dont care to ever learn!

jurhoonee 03-07-2010 05:03 AM

Yup. I learned on the farm when I was 8. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...milies/eek.gif Actually it was a team effort. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...es/biggrin.gif I would steer and shift the tree and my cousin would work the foot pedals as we drove to the neighbors yard about 2 miles down the road. We had to cross a small bridge on the way and one time there was an oncoming car. We were so scared that we stopped and let the other guy go before us. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...smilies/24.gif

Because I used to drive rigs long haul a few years back I never want to own a stick again.

I'm left handed too, but since I learned this way it's not hard for me. I'm sure, though, that it would be much easier with my left hand. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ilies/wink.gif

jokilewqs 04-06-2010 07:07 AM

I know how but I dont like it very much unless there is barely any traffic or not a daily driver. My area is all stop and go

My 2000 Mustang was a 5 spd. It was nice in that. my 5.0 now is an auto. I much prefer a stick shift in a Mustang

heinz_1966 04-06-2010 09:43 AM

I havent driven one in a long time. I like to!!
