Default David [[DavyBoy]] was in an accident.
ON MY STREET!!

Today was David and my special day, and I had a work orientation, we got a lift with Mum in the morning and he caught a bus back to get his car cause he had hardly any petrol..

As he was driving OUT OF MY STREET, he pulled out and a car hit him..

Luckily he only has a swollen cheek, but mind my language, SHIT! I was so freaking scared!! I was petrified for his life, and I was thinking, this is probably one of the only times where I haven't been in the car, what if I was in there too?

ARGH! I want to hug him, I haven't seen him yet.. I need to see him..

Here are some pics fo the damage

Apparently the other car is a bit wrecked too, and considering eh doesn't have a job at the moment it's gonna be a bit hard to pay them back.

It was both, he looked right and left but didn't look right again, and the other car was speeding, cause that is way to much impact in his car for them not to speeding.

Awww, what bad luck. Take care of him when you see him, Tildy. Be sure to tell him we're glad he's okay and that it wasn't worse. All you can hope is that if he was going to be in just one accident in his lifetime, that now he's had it and it could have been worse. You said he has to pay the other driver back...he doesn't have insurance?

I have no idea how the law works over there .. but here if someone is speeding .. the blame usually falls on them.

Nope he doesn't, I think what is happening is that he will claim it on his Mum's insurance then they will sue him and he has to pay it back..

He just came over, he's cheek is pretty swollen and bruised and he will have a big bruise on his right hip.. :|

ARGH!

I had a "blonde" moment. (No offense to the fair-haired beauties) When I saw what side of the car was damaged, I was confused about how he got injured. Then I realized. Ya'll have the steering wheel on that side of the car!

Girl, laughter can be nature's way of relieving stress. It's okay. (I'm glad you could smile even though you're ready to cry.)

Thanks everyone.

I'm ok. Not seriously hurt, thankfully, and perhaps even more importantly, neither were the occupants of the other car (two of which were kids).

As for whose fault it was - technically, it's mine, as she clearly had right of way. However, the road I was turning on to is a major blind spot for cars in the position I was, and combined with that, Tildy's Mum has considered that the other driver really had opportunity to take evasive action, and may have been over the speed limit (although it's really difficult to prove such things beyond doubt).

As for me, I'm feeling more miserable than physically damaged. I'm practically broke at the moment, unemployed, and now have repairs on a new car to pay for (let alone mine). Life's going to be tough for the next few months.
