Hyundai Accent WRC thread?
 

I´m so interested on the history of this beautifull car but...i saw that there isn´t any thread or site like, 307,Fabia,Focus or Xsara...we could make something like that...

In Spain we have one...property of XentMotor in Cantabria. Eugenio Mantecón is the driver, probably an Evo 1, updated on 2006 to Evo 3. Arrived to Spain on 2002 to Gibralfaro Motor (Eusebio Frias).

X21 HMC is driven by Marcus Dodd.

Marcus Dodd, and another Dodd (a brother/cousin) drives a Hyundai in several events in England.

Marcus Dodd runs a stable of Accent WRCs driven mainly by himself and his Dad Harry Dodd and last season Peter Eggerton.

Steve Petch's SGP Motorsport concern in the Nth East of the UK also have at least a couple of cars.

Damian Cole runs an Evo 3 as pictured on the Wydean above (the Get Connected backed car)

Steve Simpson is the reigining MSA Tarmac champion and has two cars one for tarmac and one for the woods.

Not sure of the registration numbers of any of these cars but as MSD was a UK company it's not suprising a lot are still here.

We've got quite a few over here. As well as the ones mentioned above I think there is also Steve (??) Simpson, the bloke that used (maybe still does) run the Ducati BSB team and I think Legend has one now, I'm sure Mr Carter would be in the best position to confirm that. Here a some pictures of 3 different ones on the Sunseeker Rally this year. SHame that so many are used on gravel because they look fantastic in tarmac spec.

Not the fastest WRC around, but a good looking car none the less.

Very nice pics, I think it was 2003 when Valimaki drove an accent in mexico and crashed(somewhere near a basketball court or something like that...), anyone has pics of this? I still remember the car being silver and red or something similar.

SGP I think have X14 and X 15 HMC

HPM have 12, 21, 26 & 27

Damien Cole has X 19 and X 22

Steve Simpson has X 23 and V 7 MSD - not sure what spec V7 is.

John Stone has W 3 MSD I believe updated to latest spec.

The remainder will be the latest spec with the HPM cars having had further developments.

P.s. After Hyundai's withdrawal from the championship at the end of the 2005, Yazici couldn't find a seat. But this season he is back with a Evo 9 of Lassa Rally Team.
