Fully acceptable your notice and in the right way. But in the other hand if you think to remove all these events (also Turkey), it is easy to find a lot of reasons and you will create an only central European champ.
Not only Central European, but also for example Italy or Belgium. In short - bring the championship more closer to the countries, which drivers are interested in competing in it. I dont remember any greek driver in many years, who was starting in ERC (abroad)...

I agree completely PLuto. The sensation is some rounds (Canarias, Madeira,..) are here more for touristic or economic benefits than for sport ones. The cheaper the championship is, the bigger registration list it has got. Maybe ERC becomes more "central european" but, what to worry about if rallysport and proper championship wins with it?

I agree with both. I also think that the ERC events that are entered in the IRC, should be apart. I do not mean to take Belgium and Czech Republic out of the ERC, but could have other rallies of their national championship. Ex: Condroz and Bohemia

Yes, this is also possibility. But I dont think that this change should bring more crews, which should be main target for everybody...

I think the most logic is to choose 8 or 10 rounds from the european countries (one each) whose teams entry the most out of their countries. If belgian, czech, polish, italian, etc (it´s an example, I really don´t know if true) are the teams who run the most abroad, there would be one round from these countries at ERC. If spanish or greek or croatian crews don´t run outside, it´s absurd to maintain rounds from these countries at ERC

I actually agree with you , but I would leave Croatia as an exception because over the last 3 years it was very well entered by ERC regulars and almost all of the drivers have a positive opinion about it

The proper European Rally Championship is called Intercontinental Rally Challenge. It has decent media coverage in Europe. You miss Argentina, Madeira, Açores, Canarias and Cyprus, race just in Monte Carlo, Corse, Ypres, Zlin, Hungary, Sanremo and Scotland, and can still fight for the championship.

Besides, registration should be free, so crews who collected budget at midseason, or who scored a couple of good results could go on at the championship

If the registration should be free, almost everybody will register - look at situation on Miglia, where lot of local drivers enters, but start only at home. I think that actual ammount is symbolic...

If Greece will be on tarmac, I think there will be less competitors, thatn this or last year on gravel...
It'll loose the ones who want to have more gravel experience, but will have more access to "Balkan tarmac market".

The balance is a questionmark.

It is difficult to find events to delete from calendar, I am trying to find any "notice" how and why to do it. Madeira is the most expensive event in ERC for teams, Turkey is too far and for European team sometimes problems with transportation, Spain is nice events, but teams are not interested to be there, similar it is with Greece, but it is gravel event, which is one advantage above other events...
It is not difficult to find events to get rid of. Examples? Turkey - nobody wants to compete there, no spectators, no Turkish crews interested in ERC. Spain - they were out of ERC for years and nobody cried. No Spanish crews interested in ERC. Easy? Easy!

I am in contact with ERC drivers last three years. I know lot of about their opinions, I know the costs for each event, I know about troubles with transporting to events... Especially when Elpa is one of the last events, when budgets of teams arent big...

Yes, Turkey has two biggest problems - transport there is expensive (and costs also lot of time) and they are out of EU, which means problems with transproting the cars.

With Spain I completely agree. It is really nice event, I was going through all stages of Asturias last year and I love them very much, better than stages near Salou during WRC. But ERC drivers arent interested in this event. I dont know why, maybe two reasons - too far for "central european teams" (from Czech it is 2500 kms) and maybe too many events in September in all national and international championships. But absolutely no interest from Spanish crews is truth...

And for your info - I have made also something like private questionnaire with ERC drivers about future of this championship, what they want and doesnt want. All organisers of ERC events have results of this "research"...

It will be useful to have a summary of the opinions.

Just another bad decision. Those gravel stages was what made this rally unique!
