2011 european rally championship

I apologize for starting this thread with a question , but, does anybody know anything about 2011 erc calendar? I suppose there must be a proviaional list of rounds for next season. Are expected changes from 2010 calendar? Rallyes as Barum, Ypres, etc have to be included again, I guess...but Bosphorus or Principe de Asturias, too? Thnx for any informationhttp://www.motorsportforums.com/imag...lies/smile.gif

There are actually no news about 2011 season. But it looks there will be one more round (Bulgaria), others will stay, but some change of dates possible. There will be some changes for regulations (for example to restrict drivers, who was registered, but not start - for example there will be not mandatory to give ERC registered drivers to the top of start list...) and there will be change in points system (or better in number of rounds, which will be counted into overall classification).

Thnx for the info Pluto. I understand that only some results will count for final standings and not all of them. If ERC teams arent given first start numbers, I suppose we are going to see less teams registered, although maybe itīs not important at all. I suppose too that the more obligation to register and really run rallyes, the less teams next season at ERC. Donīt you think the same?

Ypres rally will be scoring round again for ERC next year on 23-25th June. Link:

It is very likely that Rally Elpa will be a full tarmac event next year.

Even more rounds than now?! 11 is already too many and now 12? I'm sorry, but whoever invented this idea must be insane.

peveballery 11-03-2010 02:50 AM

Yes, it looks there will be 12 events. But not all will be counted into final classification.

Dwnijzhd 11-03-2010 03:40 AM

Catastrophic ....

olivelappers 11-03-2010 03:56 AM

More informations about our event except date?

Pure nonsense!

So theyīre supposed to be the same as this season with the addition of Bulgaria, arenīt they?

Rajd Polski (Rally Poland) will be in second part of September 2011. Last couple of years it was held in June.

Yes

I am still talking to people at FIA - delete from ERC events, which drivers arent interested in competing in this championship. Why there is Greece, Portugal or Spain, their drivers in last years werent interested to race in ERC (only Magalhaes one year)...

You cannot have a named "European" championship with only a couple of countries which have representatives ( I,CZ,PL). Will be more like area cup.

It needs some incentives or other formulas (ie no registrations etc), to attract competitors that can participate in near countries.

peveballery 11-04-2010 08:36 PM

Yes, I agree with you. But I want to promote and expand ERC. It is difficult to find events to delete from calendar, I am trying to find any "notice" how and why to do it. Madeira is the most expensive event in ERC for teams, Turkey is too far and for European team sometimes problems with transportation, Spain is nice events, but teams are not interested to be there, similar it is with Greece, but it is gravel event, which is one advantage above other events...

Not anymore.http://www.motorsportforums.com/imag...lies/frown.gif

I think it isnt sure yet. But if Greece lost tarmac, I think they will loose last reason to be in ERC...

Fully acceptable your notice and in the right way. But in the other hand if you think to remove all these events (also Turkey), it is easy to find a lot of reasons and you will create an only central European champ.

The change of surface for the Greek event has some very specific targets and only the timing change will help the event for more participants. I have to agree with you that its difference to gravel is one of the last reasons to attract entries.

peveballery 11-04-2010 10:06 PM

If Greece will be on tarmac, I think there will be less competitors, thatn this or last year on gravel...
