Default NEW RallySchool.com.au Mazda2 G2 Spec Rally Car
I thought this might interest a few, build by RallySchool.com.au. Sounds great, and performed well on it's first rally this week.
Official website of the Australian Rally Championship Second place for Simon and Sue Evans in 2wd at the Australian Rally Championship, a great result for it's first competitive outing.

Shot on the weekend at the Scouts Rally in South Australia. Only my second video, about time I learn how to share some of the vision I have been capturing. Adobe Premiere has been a lot easier to use than FInal Cut 7, and offers some great features like colour grading and and audio refinement in Adobe Audition. I am yet to fully explore these programs, but look forward to learning.

HEADPHONES required. A quick video preview of the RallySchool.com.au Mazda2 G2 Spec rally car.

The video ended suddenly as a photographer was swearing when he missed the shot. A shame, but hopefully I have some more audio that I can use on the longer edit which will demonstrate the results of different audio recording devices.

A short preview of the newly built Mazda2 MZR, built to the latest G2 specifications by the RallySchool.com.au team.

Shot on GoPro HERO2 camera, NTSC 848 pixels by 480 pixels @120 frames per second setting.
Audio captured with Zoom H4n microphone, manual levels. Video upsized to 1280 pixels by 720 pixels in Adobe Premiere CS6.

G2 is an Australian Rally Championship class. There are currently only a few G2 cars competing in Australia, but next year there will be 3 manufacturers with VW, Honda and the Rallyschool Mazda, oops forgot Matt Amos with his G2 Holden Commodore Ute as well.

For 2013 the Australian Rally Championship will be 2wd for outright.

The Honda Jazz in G2 category is built in Italy, is virtually an S2000 car with Fwd.

Great effort by Mick Ryan from rallyschool.com.au to put together the Mazda and to be competitive straight out of the box. Also great photos from Nigel at Motorsport Photography.

From what I have found it is a 2 ltr NA engine ala N3 or R3 depending on the tuning level.
Not sure on the allowed fancieness on suspension.

Is the Jazz from JAS a normal N3, or is it tweaked for Australia to get 245 hp?

The Jazz is from JAS and is pretty much a Civic R3 in a Jazz body shell.

What model VW is going to be running next year Ray?

Interesting rulles; http://camsmanual.com.au/pdf/04_rall..._G2_2012-3.pdf

National 2wd class wich allows botn front and rear wheel drive. You can also rebuild a 4wd drive car into a 2wd.
