Mercedes-Benz has dropped its clearest hint yet that a harsh penalty from the FIA over the Melbourne ‘lies’ scandal implicating McLaren-Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton could lead to the German manufacturer pulling out of Formula 1. brawn and force india may well be with out engines |

This isn't much of a warning shot. Donkeys of the season for sure. |

What happens if they end up with negative points? Do they have to pay Bernie money then? The short answer is that the monied interests within the sport are turning inwards, and thanks to internal backbiting and the FIA's incredible management policies, Formula One is starting to look like it has a very short shelf life indeed. WRC part II anyone? |

With Ferrari, Mercedes, Toyota and Renault, all threatening to quit, it doesn't leave very many entities left. Do I have a sniff of a £30m revolution in the air? |
