A new Swiss-based Tamil channel called Euro Television is webcasting for free on w w w . eurotvlive . com.

Currently it is only test transmission which starts with some mix of programmes (songs, cultural Tamil programmes, comedy etc) from 19.00 CET (18.00 GMT), and then News at 20.00 and then a Tamil movie after the news to 23.00 where test transmission ends.

The 4 Hours programmes will be repeated again and again until next day 19.00 CET, where new programmes will start.

Currently Euro Television is only available on internet, but it is expected to launch on satellite in Europe soon. The channel was removed from satellite in Europe in early test transmission stage for a month ago because of pressure from Sri Lankan Government and Embassies to close down Tamil medias in Europe showing the situations Tamils are undergoing in Tamil Eelam because of the Sri Lankan militarys oppression of Tamils there, and to promote Sri Lankan government supported anti-Eelam channels like DAN Tamil Ozhi Lanka and DAN Tamil Alai Radio.

The test transmission is expected to be extended later, and Euro Television will become a 24 H Tamil channel.
