So we can all agree that Pitbull is absolutely fucking insufferable, yes?
Well lucky for you, there's a way to pay it forward to him. First - ![]() Yes, that's real. Thankfully, the Internet collectively has taken notice of the competition and found the coldest, most remote Wal-Mart in existence: Walmart Kodiak. The Walmart with the most page likes on Facebook gets Pitbull. You can help send Pitbull to this icy grave by hitting the like button. Please note that this Wal-Mart is half the size of a 'regular' Wal-Mart, as in not even a Supercenter. Here's the page to Like - which is winning by a landslide. Don't worry, I know liking a Wal-Mart is probably against everything you exist for, but you can simply unlike it once the friendly staff at Walmart Kodiak claims their .... prize. ![]() |

I saw this. I thought it was funny. I believe it was started by a radio station in Massachusetts. The only problem is think out of all the possible places, I would love to go to Kodiak.
![]() Edit: Found the article that I had read. Pitbull is now in on the joke and is a good sport about it. I gained a tad of respect for him for that. He could have been a real sour puss. (Reuters) - Pitbull, the gravelly voiced rapper known for hits "I Know You Want Me" and "Give Me Everything," may be going to a far-flung Alaska town after a promotional contest that promised he would pay a visit to the most-liked Wal-Mart store on Facebook. The Wal-Mart on the island of Kodiak, which can only be reached by plane or ferry, had more than 60,000 "likes" by Thursday, which Wal-Mart spokeswoman Sarah Spencer said puts it in the lead. She could not say which Wal-Mart was in second place. "If they do win, he is definitely headed there," she said of the city of Kodiak, 250 miles south of Anchorage. The borough that includes Kodiak has a population of 13,592. The contest, co-sponsored by Wal-Mart and Sheets Energy Strips, began on June 18 and runs until July 15. It promised the most-liked store would receive a visit and concert by the rapper, prompting an online campaign to send him to remote Kodiak. The Internet campaign, #exilepitbull, was created by David Thorpe, a writer for the Boston Phoenix. He said in an email that he and a fellow writer "just thought it would be funny to make Pitbull go to the weirdest possible place." Pitbull seems to be in on the joke. On June 30, he tweeted "I hear there's bear repellant at Kodiak, Alaska." The rapper has also invited Thorpe to Kodiak with him on Twitter. "I'm delighted that he's such a good sport about the whole thing," Thorpe said. |

I think the whole stunt is pretty shitty. I detest Pitbull (he's played here ALL. THE. TIME.), but rigging a contest for fans and sending him to Alaska is petty imo. |

Many of the beloved artist on here are found to be insufferable by the general population: PJ, J-New, Tori, Lady Gags etc... This thread would've developed in an entirely different manner had the contest been-- send J-new to perform at a record store in the Yukon.
I just don't see the point of it all- it's like people are pissed off that this guy is successful. Why? because you don't like his music. Wow, how much more pre-school playground dynamic can you get. And Internet teasing is fine, but throwing a contest off??? Not cool at all. |
