Many thanks to Tori Amos for providing the book title
in her own handwriting and personally supporting this project. doesn't really look like her handwriting to me. :/

Music without spirituality doesn't deserve its name. I sense irony.

Me too. I'm quite curious now, actually. I wonder if Tori "personally supporting" the project meant that she helped pay for it or just that it's authorized. (It doesn't make any difference to me either way, mind you; I am just curious how much she got involved. As another question about involvement, I wonder if she contributed new interview material too (that is, assuming this is nonfiction).

So, yes, I'm quite curious.

For all the hours Jason has put into running the website, he deserves something good to come of his efforts, and I hope it does.

Thought I still think it would be amazing if the book were personally supported by Tori and was called the Myth of Fori.

Jason has just compiled quotes from over the years from Tori and that's what the book basically is.

Basically this isn't such a bad idea, except with that title, The MYTH of Tori Amos, and judging by the examples posted on the site I'm afraid there's going to be a lot of new-age gibberish about song-beings that visit her at night, spirituality, dark powers and fairy dust. Remember that article that was posted a while ago where she complained about being called kooky?!

Hmm. Fitting title. Tori pretty much is a myth these days, like Bigfoot or the Loch Ness Monster -- reported to exist, but no substantiated sightings. Instead, we just have Fori marauding about.

Sorry if this is a stupid question - but does Tori actually have anything to do with this publication - like does she have to give her go-ahead or have any input on it?

So it's basically just quotes? I think I'll pass -- I don't need to hear the same old hypocritical crap about "stepping into your grace" like "a classic car" or whatever. If there was a book called The Tragedy of Tori, then that might be interesting.

Wouldn't a publication like this require tons of legal footwork getting rights to excerpts of all of these interviews and such? Or is that not how this works?

I bet Tori contributed a photo for the cover! Obviously she agrees with herself being like a mythical Greek goddess. Hello!? ADP anyone?

Or perhaps its the myth of "the woman we call Tori","tori", or Tori. Who knows!
