I have.

I hate to say this ... but it's awful
Oh no!

I've given "Covered" a few spins now and I think the stand-outs are "Teenagers" and "Wake Up".
I also like "Creep", "Maps", "Nothing Else Matters".

Her skits with Nicole and MC Lyte are very funny.

Love her. Kind of lost track after the first three albums, but I recently was given copies of her last two records and I'm exploring them.

I think she's a perfect artist to release a covers album. Her voice is distinct, and she can really make a song her own. I'm really excited to hear her cover Arcade Fire's "Wake Up."

I'm a casual listener; I only like about 10 Macy Gray songs. But still, I think she probably has the best voice in R&B. I love how unique it sound. It Ain't the Money ft. Beck (!!!) is amazing!!!!!!!!!!

Since we're talking covers, here's a song she did a few years back for the Confessions of a Shopaholic soundtrack--a cover of Harry Nilsson's "Don't Forget Me." Neko Case also covered it on her last album:

I really like Macy's version of this. Neko's, too.
it is quite like the version Marianne Faithfull did on 20th Century Blues

Default Macy Gray
Macy Gray is in my top 5 artists list, so just in case there are other hardcore fans or even casual listeners, I thought a thread should be opened because she's got a new covers album out in March.

Here is an article from Rollingstone http://www.rollingstone.com/music/ne...vered-20120207

You're welcome.

The timing of this thread is funny, because I have been on a Macy Gray kick, totally randomly, after not having really listened to her in years. I went so far as to scope out B-sides, rarities, and soundtrack cuts, of which she has many. It's cool when you find a total gem in a really unlikely place. Like, who would have known there's a great song out there that's only available on the freakin' Confessions of a Shopaholic soundtrack? lol

"Time of My Life" from the 8 Mile soundtrack is also great:
