Default Tori's taping on Rosie
Yay, it's Tori/Rosie day! I'm really looking forward to the taping today, but have no idea what to expect. I'll let everyone know how it went as soon as I get back. Wonder what Tori has spent the last day in Chicago doing? Probably shopping on Oak Street and Michigan Ave.

Just got home from the Rosie taping. She did SATY, Edge of the Moon, Crucify (duet with Rosie), and an interview. Really great to see her so close. Wore a leather jacket, a poofier black skirt, and kick ass black/silver shoes. Did an interview segment with Rosie and she told a good story about how Tash can be very shocking in the things that come out of her mouth.

It was a fun taping. Rosie looked great, but I almost froze my ass off in that studio it was so cold.

Tori played Silent All These Years, a very short version of Edge of the Moon and dueted with Rosie on Crucify.

The interview portion was all about Tash.

Tori looked amazing.

There really weren't that many fans in the audience, but I am so glad I went. She sounded absolutely fantastic! To see her in such an intimate setting is a simply amazing experience.

Was she the whole hour, or no?

I walked (stalked) my dog by Harpo studios to see if I could get a glance of Tori leaving, but apparently had just missed her. Instead I got to see Rosie, and it just wasn't the same .

They aren't sure when they'll air it yet, but probably 2012 based on a mention during Rosie's monologue.

There will also be a taped interview segment with Darrell Hammond, but we didn't get to see that part of it today.

Judging from the fact that 4 segments were Tori, I would not be surprised if they cut something. Probably the Crucify duet, which was cute but also awkward.

Yes, Rosie said sometime in 2012 for the airing. The show we will actually see will not be Tori the entire hour, but you will probably see SATY and the 45 second version of Edge of the Moon. The Crucify duet was a little uncomfortable. Tori sounded amazing, but Rosie kinda ruined it. I didn't know if we were supposed to be laughing or cheering. Regardless, I highly doubt they would air that on television.

I know that Tori doesn't always sound her best in a TV studio setting, but her vocals were flawless. I teared up at Silent All These Years! And she looked stunning.

Oh, she told the "I'm not a lesbian, but black guys are hot" Tash story - which I think we've all heard more than once.

Most of the people in the audience had no idea who Tori was, besides the 15 or so of us that were fans, but everyone got a copy of Night of Hunters on the way out, so they're going to know! I'd thought they'd do more with the fans, or have us all together down front or something, but they didn't.

Yes, it was freezing, but they do that in all studios to keep the audience awake.

The Swag we all left with.

ETA: That's a Snuggie, some Cheez-its, NOH, and some Olay face wash. Ha.

You should have given that Snuggie back and told them you wanted the Pepto version.

Oh, Rosie asked Tori who took the picture for the cover art of NOH, and Tori had no fucking clue. It was an amusing little moment. Her answer was "I'm going through menopause."

My snuggie is shedding to no end. I'd hate to see what my washer will look like.

Uhhh...Wasn't the photographer for Night of Hunters Victor de Mello? Did he not take the cover photo as well? Is she really that far out of her own loop? Kinda speaks volumes about the amount of effort she puts into her album artwork.

that's so strange about the photographer. i think it's probably her worst album cover to date, but who knows how much his original photos were changed/ruined in Photoshop.

I think it was one of those moments where she just completely forgot. Rosie asked her in between back-to-back segments in which she was performing, and Tori was kind of in the zone. I didn't really perceive that she was that out of it, just that she couldn't think of the name in that moment.
