EQ just now, felt in Cabarete. Building swayed about 5-6 seconds, chandelier & ceiling fans still swaying. Was a smooth rolling motion, not a big bump.

We just had a nice little earthquake here in Santiago, earth shook pretty good for nearly a full minute.

Any guesses as to what the richter reading will be? I am guessing 5.5 or thereabouts.

Was sitting at my computer when in my 2nd floor apartment when the building started moving from side to side and the window shades started flapping, as though in a breeze.

Took me a moment to realize it was an earth tremor and that I wasn't back on the cruising sailboat that was my home for about 16 years.

This is the strongest since the earth quake a few years ago. How widespread was it?

Hope others realize that dv8 is not joking. I felt the onset of motion sickness, too, and I thought I had sea legs.

We just felt it. I guess it was little over 6. I hope it wasn't only the pre-quake
My friend in Sosua felt it also.

The Hun

I'm in Cabarete in a third floor apartment. It felt like I was getting sea sick and my lamp was swinging back and forth. Very uncomfortable!

Same here. Water in pool has been moving in big waves. Chandelier making circles. Dogs barking, seemingly at nothing.

About five minutes ago everything started swaying for about 30 seconds or so. I got everyone out of the house.

Waiting for the after shock... keep you posted
