I've used the search function but can't find the rates that were posted a while back. I'm going to Haiti for a day and I'm assuming I'll have to pay an overstay fee at the border. I've been here for two years.

I have been to Haiti twice with Caribe Tours via Dajabon (so a "regular" border crossing) and never had to pay mine. Could be luck of the draw.

Say I was there for 30 days, left, then three weeks later I am returning on a new tourist visa....is this acceptable??

if you are talking about for tourist visa renewal then as far as I know Hispanola isn't considered in this situation (so Haiti isn't far enough) if they try to bring in the rules (not gunna happen, too complicated for blunt minds), then I'm sure they'll change that to leave a back door.
It's just a money maker to meet some stupid quota somehow, once it's met it'll be forgotten again. My theory anyway.

I was told you can go to the airport in POP and pay your overstay fine then have your passport stamped. Nope they wouldn't even go there. There was a lot of confusion after explaining that we weren't leaving on any specific date. A couple of officials with uniforms repeatedly argued that when you leave you pay. I must say they were very helpful and polite.

I'm very confuzzled tonight. You are going to Haiti, but you went to the airport to try to get your passport stamped. But you can't extend your tourist card at the airport so you're going to Haiti. I am confused what connection the airport has with the Haiti trip.

OK the minute is up. Your passport is stamped for exit and entry at the border therefore your entry is good for sixty days.

Sorry didn't get my post off in time, but yes, that's the concept.

Let me know if they allow it now, would make life easier for many. I'm not even sure how they used to not allow it, but 'twas the case for some.

Maybe there's something in this, Guzman mentions you can renew your tourist card 4 times in santo Domingo, but the info is extremely dated. Tourist Visa Extension?

That 120 days is the maximum according to the current ill-conceived new rules.
