The notion of identity has a psychosocial nature, it is built at the intersection between individual personality, self-concept, interpersonal relationships and the broader context that surrounds the person (Trimble, Root, & Helms, 2003). One of the relevant contexts for the construction of identity is undoubtedly the Internet and social networks, since they have become a space for social interrelation for adolescents where they can connect with their peers on platforms such as Instagram, Facebook or YouTube (Ahn , 2011; Barker, 2009). In Spain, the use of social networks and the Internet by children and adolescents has grown notably in recent years.
