Despite these difficulties, we have some evidence that cities are often built on sites with geographical advantages. For example, we know that in the Bronze Age, many of humanity's earliest cities were built near transportation routes (Barjamovic et al., 2019). From the process of colonization of America, it is deduced that areas near the ocean, with abundant precious minerals, such as gold and silver, or with a climate less conducive to tropical diseases, attracted a stores that sell religious items near me greater number of colonizers (Landes, 1988; Sokoloff and Engermann, 2000). ; Acemoglu et al., 2001 and 2002; Ertan, Fizsbein and Putterman, 2016)4. In a recent work, Cuberes and Farolfi (2020) study the factors that determined the location of the capitals of African countries and the United States, distinguishing between purely geographical reasons, such as proximity to the sea, and strategic ones, such as proximity to the border of countries with which there were more armed conflicts in the past.
