Well, I hope you don't select me to start picking on. Hehehe.

I am a liberal Christian and my best friend is an Atheist. We disagree on somethings things but what is wrong with that. Does it change the status of my friendship - no. I think the issues that drives people apart are not atheist and theist but more (IMO) the intolerant and the intolerant.

I am a strong believer in freedom to believe or not to believe. I do not understand why we must push our beliefs on anyone. One of the most beautiful things that happens in meditation is that as you progress mind becomes still, and the concepts God and no-God cease to exist in that stilled mind. You are simply there, the world is there, and life simply is.

You did good with that post Luis. Very nice description of deep meditation. We Taoists call that attaining "wu wei".

In my spiritual tradition it has many names: Samadhi, Brahma Nirvana, Moksha, Kaivalya, etc. Just names! Sometimes I call it the Presence. Just names! When we become attached to the names, we lose sight of its profoundness.

Agree. But I talk with a number of Buddhists on the Tao forum and I have to explain everything to them. Hehehe.

Yeah, it's funny sometimes, the attachments most of the Buddhists I know have considering that is one of the first things Buddhists are told to get rid of.

As Luis mentioned, sort of, Unitarian Universalist is the only 'religion' I've ever seen that has the potential to host all religions. Those who pursue simple spirituality already seem to be united.

I think that people are coming together despite their beliefs, instead of because of their beliefs. Universal Life Church is a prime example of this. Having said that, the historic tendency is for groups to splinter and separate -- not grow together.
