Only Geylang, Place of Historical and other Cemetery lands (Sin Ming, Chao Chu Kang) had temple.

Post 2500 Meditation Buddhist Community Temple


In modern day today, we had more Buddhist Layman than Buddhist Monk and Buddhist Laywoman more than Buddhist Layman. Some temple had monk and nun but some do not have any monk or nun. To have every kilometer or ten kilometer or hundred kilometer or thousand kilometer with a Buddhist Community Temple, the community temple shall manage by Buddhist Layman Community with a group of Executive Committee Members. However, the President of the community temple will appoint an Abbot and a Sangha Administrator to lead the community.


Monk had to give a chance for nun to lead the layman. However, the Layman had to give a chance for the laywoman to lead the Buddhist community. Whereby, in heaven everybody is equal. The Buddhist Community Temple is place for people to take three refuges and five percept ceremony. The community temple is also a place for new born baby celebration, birthday celebration, married celebration and other Buddhist festival celebration. Hence, the community temple also is a place for pray and blessing to the sick people, death people, funeral and mishap.


Every community temple had to conduct dharma teaching, meditation, chanting, meal offering and community work. The temple shall operate 24 hours in city area due to our city life. For rural area, the temple shall operate from 5 am to 9 pm. I am not interrupting the Sangha Community but finding a way to improve the Buddhist Layman Community.
