Spiritual Similarities:
It's often been said that if people would look beyond their differences, they'd find they have much more in common than they think. Learning about other belief systems doesn't mean you have to take on any part of those beliefs or practices. But understanding why others feel they way they do about certain issues and topics can go a long way to understanding each other. In other words, if you can learn about your neighbor and what they belief, then you can find a common ground for communication and understanding. On this page, I'd like to try and show from my perspective, the similarities of the positive belief systems. We all practice the same things, we use different names to label our rituals and ceremonies. Take a look and see if you can find some similarities not listed here. And, if my memory serves me well, all religions have some form of entity that is greater than man, regardless of what name they attatch to it. |

I think another similarity not mentioned is that religions evolve and change over time, even those that claim that they do not. The Bard siad: "A rose by any other name still smells as sweet." (or something to that effect). I think the same holds true for The Divine: it doesn't matter what you call Her as long as you call Her. And, if my memory serves me well, all religions have some form of entity that is greater than man, regardless of what name they attatch to it. |

Just so I don't sound like a parrot, I agree with everyone here. Religion (a construct of man) seperates us, not God. Even if you took all the views of God that are on Earth and combined them into one view, you still would not have a complete view of God. JMO. |
