Shamanism is powerful in part because its practitioners tailor healing to the individual needs of those who seek them out. A shaman manipulates energy, giving you power where you have lost it and removing misplaced energy lurking within you. When you seek out a shaman, they will endeavor to know and understand you before treating you. I find this to be a very excellent article that does indeed capture the essence of what a shaman is and does. About the only thing that I'd disagree with is the part about "reemerging"...shamanism has never left, so it can't reemerge. It has simply become more known, perhaps because more people are becoming spiritual than ever before.

They are even asking for them in hospitals .. i have first hand experience in that dept. small smile.
