Default Local Haunts
Aside from the Museum of the Southwest story, the only other one I know of is an old windmill south of Midland (off of Rankin Hwy I believe.) Story I heard was that an old man hung himself or was hanged from that windmill.

Now, the windmill only turns when the wind is not blowing. And when it is windy and blowing hard... it just sits there, motionless. I've seen it move on a wind-less day, so it has managed to grab my attention and keep it. :?

There's a house in the Odessa Country Club neighborhood called Papa Smurf's House, and the occupants have one of those old fashioned cars parked out front. Anyway, people say strange things happen around there, like the pool turning red and car doors locking and unlocking automatically.

In the University Park subdivision there is Lonesome Dove. I've heard a story or two about it being haunted or a burial ground, but it's really just a bunch of cow skulls on sticks.

Odessan, tell us more about the pool turning red!
I'll tell you Polly...I know tha house. It's a chemical you put in there so you can see when somebody pees in the pool. If you pee, the water turns red. Pretty cool, huh?
