It would be great to know exactly who our Administartors and President are, and maybe some contact details !!!!
On the Scooter boy subject...when we were in GA recently there was a bike with two up doing a wheelie going down the road parallel to Dunbars, suddenly the one wheel hit one of the "manhole" covers in the middle of the road and the bike almost tipped over backwards, the boy riding pilion grabbed the driver by the waist and held on for grim death !!! how funny was that we thought, serves them right !!!! of course they weren't wearing helmets !!!
We find that when the young English girls are about, the boys are at their worst trying to impress them

Thanks!

Just a quick update. The meeting is actually being held on Saturday now and we have had it confirmed by one of the VP's, that this problem is on the agenda.

The President's name is Alan McLean, but we have no contact details as yet.

Hope we finally get some answers if we all try to contact both the president and the administrator with similar questions.
Good luck

We understand that prior to the meeting, 12 residents had written letters of complaint to the Administrator regarding this, and at the meeting, another letter was handed in. In addition some photographic evidence had been supplied.

The committee have now passed this to the police for them to take action and the committee/administrator will be following this up to ensure the complaint is being taken seriously.

Yes we have or I have ............... You just get some cocky attitude from them ........... anyway how can you 'reason' with one of them, caught in our pool, stealing a womans purse !!!

They made a 'den' from peoples belongings in the fromt garden of ones of the houses and a friend of mine went to take it down he thought it smelt like they ahd been smoking dope in there.

Personally, I think it has gone past 'reasoning' with them, a group that sprey paints obscene grafitti on the walls of people houses, smash down ballestrades, been up on peoples roofs nicking furniture to smash up and make their 'dens' ........... thats a few to be going on with for Altomar II .......... They also went into Montefaro and smashed the lights around the pool (Montefaro now has to pay for a 24 hour guard) ............. I don't think saying "Can you please not do that" is going to work somehow !!!

Default Scooter Boys
I have recently returned from GA, I have a apartment on Altomar 11 over looking the main pool
I have not been out there since May and was shocked to see how the scooter boys have taken over the area.
Every day, late afternoon they arrive with their friends making noise, graffiti and litter, and taking no notice of the residence. they also speed around the pool often taking no notice of the one way system.
If this carries on it will not be long before some child is knocked down on the way to the pool and seriously injured,
or even worse.
Has anyone else seen these boys, if so what do you think? there must be something we can do within our community to stop all this, one idea I had, would be to have speed ramps in the roads around the pool to try and slow them down.
I would like to send a message to the president of Altomar 11 to see if there is anything that can be done about these boys. I would be grateful if any one has his e-mail address to pass it on to me.

Chris.

This really does need sorting out and if a call could be made Mark, we would appreciate it. This 'gang' hang around by the walkway from the bottom pool on Altomar II to the back road which runs by Don Puablo. They cause all sorts of problems. They have been onto peoples roofs, stolen garden furniture and made a 'den' out of it in the gardens of the two properties either side of the walkway - They smashed the ballestrades down in one of them (the house is now for sale as the owner is sick of the hassel) - They have sprayed obscene graffetti on the walls down there - They intimidate people as they walk through - someone told me they smoke hash there etc. etc. etc. !!! They are a real pain ................. if you can help, I for one would greatly appreciate it. We rent our place out some of the time and it is a worry that these lot are spoiling it for our clients. One of the 'gang' is a half-cast kid who lives on Don Puablo yet hangs around Altomar II all the time ........ he, and his lot, use our pool in the summer and was caught stealing a purse from there. ............ They are a right bunch and are really bringing that part of GA down. We were in the same position and didn't know where to turn to sort the problem out. I did speak to them, but surprise surprise .......... a load of abuse !!!

Although only hearsay, it is thought that it was this lot that went into Montefaro, once again using the pool, and smashed all the lights around and caused a lot of damage. The Police were called but I don't know what happened. Montefaro now have a security guard ...........

This is a problem that is not going to go away and really needs to be tackled. As for the President, I should think he could be involved as it is a private estate and he is 'in charge' ..........

If you can help Mark, please do.

Thanks for the offer to call you Mark, will do next week, I do know of several times that the police were called but as these boys are Spanish they sort of move them on then disappear and the boys are back in no time. The police are just not interested.
I agree with you Falconer it is the presidents responsibility, why else do we elect him, surely this is why we pay our community charge, to maintain Altomar 11 and keep it safe.
I also let my apartment out in the summer, my nephews who have small children and were there this year reported back to me that their kiddies would not use the pool whilst these boys were there. This can't be right, and must not be
allowed to continue

We have just been over to GA and experienced the unruly behaviour of the youngsters. We contacted our solicitor while we were there and he recommended that the president should write to the Head of the local police telling him of the constant problems we are having. I would appreciate it if someone could let me know the president's email address so that I can let him know exactly what the solicitor told us.

The good news is apparently the police have confiscated two of the motor bikes.

I did send a e-mail to the president of Altomar II and got this reply,

Dear Sir/Madam:

According to your mail, we inform to you that in the last Committee Board Meeting, this matter was spoken, and the solution is to close the urbanization
to avoid this situations.

Kind regards,

Cesar Cuartero
Administrator Altomar II

I am not quite sure what this means, has anyone else heard anything?

Chris.

With all due respect I do think you are missing the point. It is not the dope smoking that is the main issue here it is the fact that groups of 20 or 30 teenagers congregate in one area, blocking the passageways between apartments and refusing to move when asked, sitting in the gardens of empty apartments and again refusing to move when asked, leaving their litter (cans, bottles, cigarette ends, cigarette packets and the like) in gardens, moving sunlounger cushions and mattresses into gardens to build dens, lighting bonfires in gardens causing scorch marks to tiles and walls, stealing tables and chairs, causing damage to walls and ballustrades, breaking garden ornaments, having impromptu parties in the street with loud music and not to mention the noise from revving car engines and motorbikes/scooters racing up and down the narrow streets.

A handbag was stolen from a resident whilst in the pool gardens and a scooter has been driven around the pool gardens. Whilst you may not find this intimidating, many do and want something done about it. It is not a case of moving the problem elsewhere but stopping them from congregating in such a fashion as to cause fear and misery to residents especially the elderly and those trying to get youngsters to sleep which, as a new father, I am sure you can appreciate. We have moved them on several times and whilst they have done so they just come back again.

I also don't think putting gates in Altomar 2 is the answer (and there would have to be many gates to do so) although I believe this will be put to the vote at the next AGM.

Of course anything that you can do to help solve this problem would be appreciated.
