Manchester United have accepted a world record offer of £80m from Real Madrid for winger Cristiano Ronaldo.
"United have agreed to give Real Madrid permission to talk to the player," read a statement from the Old Trafford club.
It added the decision came at the 24-year-old Ronaldo's request after he "again expressed his desire to leave".
United said the offer was unconditional and want the matter to be concluded by 30 June, while Madrid hope to agree personal terms "in the next few days".

if they get him, real madrid are going to be pretty nasty with him and kaka. i believe they are targeting one more high profile player as well.

I'd say there's about a 95% chance of them getting Ronaldo. I can't imagine why he wouldn't want to go to Real and I also can't imagine why the Glazers and SAF wouldn't want him to leave.

well he always dreamed of playing for madrid, but i don't get why you'd want arguably the best player in the world to leave. although united and the glazers are rumored to be heavily in debt.

He has a really poor attitude that's not worth his immense talent.

his attitude far outweighed by his play. Madrid are going to be great next season, Man U fan should be prepared for a down year with the players they'll loose and the guys that are getting another year older.
