starts sunday. us begins play monday against world champion italy. gonna be difficult to avoid seeing results but i will try my best. in typical us fashion we draw the group of death.
group a south africa spain new zealand iraq group b usa italy brazil egypt 4 points would be quite a success imo and could possibly get them into the knockout stage. would like to see a lineup of --------------howard bornstein--boca--gooch--spector deuce---torres/feilhaber/adu--bradley--donovan ---------altidore-----davies i doubt we will see a 4-4-2 against italy and brazil though, more likely a 4-5-1 with clark and bradley as holding mids and either torres/feilhaber/adu as attacking mid. we were the only side to take a point off italy at the '06 world cup and would have taken 3 if it weren't for a horrendous offside call. |
