Anyway, the top speed race is old now. Manufacturers are now aiming for lighter more agile cars. The new Lambo has a 0-60 of 2.5 seconds and so has the Veyron. Another thing that bothers me about the SSC is the styling. Looks like a 30 year old shape with design cues taken from the **** ugly Vector M12. |

From the rear and side the car looks pretty good, but the front is just god awful. No doubt designed purely for aerodynamic properties and not for style though.
When comparing it to the Veyron you have to keep in mind that the Veyron is much heavier, can be a daily driver as it is comfortable and well behaved for city streets, it is quiet inside(relatively low engine noise in the cabin) and has full luxuries like sat nav, air conditioning, etc. And it doesn't have uncomfortably hard racing seats. It also costs like 5x as much to make though ![]() Really haven't been a fan of american super cars since the Viper RT/10 and then the GTS came out back in the 90s when I was still a teen who was into that aggressive styling and V10 noise(still a good sound today though) but I dunno if they even qualified as "super cars" back then, guess they were just sports cars? Classic american muscle is still awesome though. Yanks do know how to make a nice sounding V8 rumble ![]() |

1287bhp instead of 1183. Ugly, but totally awesome. |

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4GVfFCH-7_c It's just an engineering marvel which fuses function with design. As elegant and frugal as cars go. The SSC is just plain ugly. |
