So, I'm probably the last one to find out about this too, but I ran into a fan-made trailer for a Metal Gear movie. That trailer inevitably led me to yet ANOTHER trailer for a Metal Gear move called Metal Gear Solid: Philanthropy. Of course I had no idea at the time but it turns out that the trailer is for a movie that ACTUALLY got made
YouTube Player YouTube Player I believe a user on da Tube has the movie available in pieces, but I"m trying to stream it from the maker's site(they have a Vimeo link and a Dailymotion link), where you can download it as well. The trailers make it readily known that the acting is gonna take some serious shots but, for a non-profit fan-movie, this seems like it's gonna be pretty good. You'd have to be a serious Metal Gear fan to try and pull this off. |

Yeah, they've only done Part 1 so far. Unfortunately though, there's no word on when production will begin on Parts 2 & 3. ![]() |

Oh, that's just because they took the first chapter and broke the download into 4 parts. Must be pretty HQ sheeit if they needed to break a 69 minute film into 4 parts for a Megaupload.
The first chapter in their trilogy is called The Overnight Nation. As of right now, that IS the movie and nothing else. They're waiting on a few factors to determine rather or not the 2nd and 3rd chapters are completed. One of them, which is beyond clear at this point, is the fans' reaction to the film. The people want it finished, bottom line, so that's aside. Also they wanted a reply from Kojima and to determine the future of Hive Division. They're trying to take their film careers a step further and really go balls out with the company instead of being some semi-professional fan gathering. So by the time they do the second part of the movie, IF (they will, because the force is strong with Hive) they'll have financial backing and their company will be a bit more establish. As selfish as it is to say, they BETTER finish the film. You can't just take all that time and effort to make something like that and just... not finish it. I think Hideo's opinion is more important than anything though because if Kojima tells them "Yeah it was great, keep going", those kids are gonna break their necks trying to finish this movie. You simply do not say no to Hideo Kojima. That guy's like a demi-god. |
