haha... he must have spoken another language and didn't understand how to redeem the cash.

People were trying to talk him out of eating it, but he stood up and ate it anyway! [rofl][rofl][rofl]

I think this shows how utterly out of character you become as soon as you enter one of those flying misery tubes.

Slightly off topic/

I often wonder whether there is a market for different aircraft for short haul passenger flights.

Instead of pressurised tubes how about aircraft that have much bigger passenger windows and seating space? Sure the window size means they would have to fly lower, but it's a short haul flight anyway! Get back to the glory days of passenger flight I say!

Problem is people are inherently tight with their money, air travel is the way it is today because people don't want to pay any extra. Hell if it saved people 20 bucks they would probably stand up the entire flight if they could.

The pain and suffering caused by these cheap airlines is getting to a point where the little bit you save isn't worth it. If a superior airline is only $15-20 more than a cheap one then I'll take the more expensive flight. Less friggen babies too on premium airlines. All the extras you pay for on the cheap airlines don't give you much and sometimes I've had it cost the same or more as the premium, for what basically is an inferior service.

I have vowed never to give Ryanair or Easyjet another penny of my money. I only fly a couple of times a year, it's worth spending the extra IMO to avoid being treated like livestock in a flying concentration camp.

What people don't realise is that paying that bit extra also has other unseen consequences, the pilots! The lower paid pilot's work for the budget airlines, and we all know you get what you paid for, lower pay = less experienced or less happy.

It was definetly one of the factors in that commuter jet crash in the US. The pilot's where tired and underpaid and F'd up killing everyone. The FO was on $16,000 US P.A [shocked] And that is the standard rate! She worked in a coffee shop as a second job to pay the bills, and slept in the crew lounge after commuting 6 hours to work as she could only afford to live with her parents!

And this is normal for FO's in budget carriers in the US

Edit, actually I'm going to start a new thread about this.
