Cutting domestic spending while maintaining an obscene military budget that funds 700+ military bases in ~130 countries, and engaging in multiple concurrent war theaters - both overt and covert - not to mention billions in "foreign aid", is not a healthy balance, nor is is sustainable. Even if the above were true, and its not, all of that matters not a bit as the growth in the domestic budget over the last ten and next ten years makes the military budget look like peanuts.
