He's about the only NFLer who'd have any chance at all against the top 10% or so of hockey players. |

The DLs are fat bastards who can barely sprint 10 yards before getting winded.
Dude, a lot of DLs are ****ing stacked. DEs are clearly the biggest badasses on the field, along with MLBs. They fistfight pretty regularly; its a rare occasion for most football players. ![]() Yeah, no football players grew up in tough neighborhoods where they had to learn how to fight. |

I guarantee you that the average Canadian fistfights more growing up than the average black kid in the US. |

Why do you think all those *******s own guns and knives? 'cause they don't know how to fight. All Canadians love and play a sport where fistfights are not only common, they are expected. We live in a frozen land cooped up with the same people for extended periods of time. We also have a harder time getting ahold of firearms -- especially compared to the football-playing demographic -- which means we resort to fists. Even I have been involved in one fistfight. And I'm a white suburban computer geek. ![]() |

So we start by deploring basketball players for resorting to violent confrontations, then argue over which players of which sport would fare better in a violent confrontation? Makes sense to me.
Anyway, I'll try defending basketball, though I don't especially care for any sport: it's only slightly slower-paced than hockey and you can actually tell what the hell's going on. |

The fact is that they are not pushed by the requirements of their sport to be able to fight. Even pussies in the NHL have a couple of fights in their professional career and probably a few more in the junior leagues, college or high school. Enforcers can get into 10 or 20 fistfights against other professional athletes EVERY YEAR.
I remain unconvinced that one-armed hockey fights are superior preparation for a real fistfight than a rough upbringing in America and extra-curricular violence with your entourage in the football offseason. |

I admit that I have never been a pugilist, but if there's only one worthwhile spot to hit wouldn't it be a kind of boring fight? Sort of like Irish boxing, or rock-em sock-em robots. If you want to watch fights, watch boxing, or that white-trash MMA stuff. |
