Which do you prefer?

Digital cable.

Satellite's reception is wonky, can't use it much in condos/apartments, and they usually downsample the resolution to 720p

Assuming digital cable, I'm with Asher and CW. I can get more or less the same channels, more reliably and without the southern exposure requirement.

Cable doesn't go out in light rain, snow, shade, wind, etc.
It (including the digital cable) does in my area, much worse than sattelite does. Crappy cable infrastructure.

Storwaytozy 10-19-2009 09:53 PM

With time warner here it is very hodge podge from neighborhood to neighborhood or block to block, mostly depending on the condition of the actual cables.

Rugda 10-19-2009 09:57 PM

Its more like rain getting in to junctions and corroding the metal cable near connections you racist bastard.

Dare it I do, you pale imperialist gringo. You get more radiation from your computer than you do from honest work out in natural sunlight, whitey.

Cable has college football, Satellite has NFL. Cable wins hands down.

I've thought about going with satelite/dish for my next apartment because it's cheaper than cable.

Now given what people have said in here about satelite reception, I know why satelite/dish often advertise their dramatically lower price. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/smile.gif

Asher can do his own damn research.

Not where I live.

Cable. It's digital, it mostly works pretty well since Comcast upgraded infrastructure on our property. Can't run satellite in my condo (faces north only), so I'll never know how wonky it may be.

So you guys just take it up the *** with the cable company by paying their ridiculously high prices?

Oh great, an on topic post. What the hell is Poly comming to?
It was a brief technical malfunction

We should be returning you to your normal service soon.

Ngwkgczx 10-20-2009 02:53 PM

I'd just like to have a choice.

I have none where I live - either pay one crappy satelitte company way too much or have two local channels.

XinordiX 10-20-2009 03:34 PM

I honestly can't remember how many years it's been since my cable's been out.
