Default Name ten songs worse than any Beastie Boys song
Any genre restrictions? I'm sure I could come up with several.

Anything done by Yoko would do it.
And with that I think we've met Asher's challenge.

I don't think Revolution 9 qualifies as a song.

As for the challenge, most country music qualifies. There's this one that's really popular among mouth-breathing hicks at the moment. The chorus goes: "God is great, beer is good, people are crazy." Also, "It was a diiiiiiiifrent world, when we were boys an' girls." I have to listen to both while I work. I guess shitkicker schmaltz is all the rage. OTOH, I haven't heard a lot of Beastie Boys.

Also, try Iris by the Goo-Goo Dolls. Eve of Destruction by some damned hippie. Michael Bolton wailing about How Is He Supposed To Live Without Us. Hmm, can't think of much else ATM.

Drake, are you posting that revolution9 from the white album is a worse song than any beastie boys song?
Yes. Not only is it clearly The Beatles' worst song, but it may be the worst song ever released by a major artist. It's absolutely dreadful.
OK, you're officially captain insane-o. I agree its not everyones "cup of tea", but you have to consider it within the context of the music at that time (1968). From that perspective, it's brilliant.

How do you feel about a Jackson Pollack then, not art?

From the "perspective" of the late sixties, everything looks brilliant, because the perspective of the late sixties was heavily influenced by a ton of psychoactive chemicals. It's not a song because THERE'S NO DAMNED SINGING. Okay, you can call a classical piece a "song," though it's technically a serious misnomer. But that has some sort of rhythm to it. Revolution 9 has no rhythm, no singing, just Lennon repeating the same two words over and over against a fairly random background of static-y noise.

I haven't seen much Jackson Pollack, but what I have seen is, at best, very ugly and overrated art. Like most modern art.

I think the attempted purpose of Revolution 9 on the White Album was to make some of the other pointless, self-indulgent pap on there sound a bit better. Not sure that it worked, though. It should never have been a double album.

I actually think that song is fairly catchy and exceptionally campy. In a good, Queen way.

What's up with all those Spinal Tap references lately? All of a sudden I see "up to eleven" everywhere.

It's one of the finest films ever. Why not quote it?
It's alright to quote it, but you don't hear anyone talking about it for over twenty years and now all of a sudden Spinal Tap is all over the place.
