What Goes on Your Dog?

I put pink ribbons on my dog to turn him gay.

Gabbavnf 08-20-2009 08:01 PM

mustard, tomato, cole slaw (VINEGAR cole slaw, not that creamy ****)

Susanleech 08-20-2009 08:11 PM

This is insane... I had a corn dog for lunch and was thinking, when I get back from lunch I should start a thread on this, considering I just saw an episode of No Reservations when he went to Hot Dougs in Chicago.

Odd.

Tube steak is serious business. There are empires built on the humble weiner, or frankfurter. Now, being a Chicagoan, my general hot dog topping is as follows:

mustard
diced, raw onions
sweet pickili (it's a neo green relish)
tomato slice
cucumber spear
celery salt
sport peppers (optional)
on a poppy seed bun

I'm also partial to Skyline Chili dogs
mustard
diced, raw onions
Skyline chili (no other will do)
finely shredded mild cheddar

I have, however, a new favorite. A local dog place down here, Dogma, has something called a Sedona.
a slice of avacado
sour cream
a slice of bacon
a couple slices of tomatoes
and what I think is spicy chipotle ranch dressing

yum!

So, what goes on your dog. Keep in mind that the answer ketchup will get you mocked.
I have to say, growing up in New England, we referred to something else as Tube Steak and no, no lover gonna put onions and vinegar (unless dried out) on minehttp://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ilies/wink.gif

For all those who are unaware, Skyline chili is not chili.

A slice of american cheese, a touch of chili
YUM
Or just slap some mustard on it and go to town.

I buy yellow for hot dogs and save brown for other sausages: polish, brats, etc.

loyalgagora 08-20-2009 10:26 PM

http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...milies/lol.gif http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...milies/lol.gif not gonna bite on that dog.

Ketchup with extra ketchup and sprinkles.

Ha ha I jest. I prefer a good Chicago style dog of course, with the mandatory Vienna Beef frank.

SarSerceSaice 08-21-2009 04:01 AM

Just grilled onions, sauerkraut, spicy mustard and ketchup. All else is sacrilege.

Why am I not surprised that Drake and BC are again playing the role of "heretic that should be burned alive at the stake?" http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...s/neeschud.gif

Ketchup.
I am not sure why folks (not here) but in general have a problem with Ketchup?

Catsup?

Not all are decent, but Hunts and Heinz are my two favorites, never been a Heinz fanhttp://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ons/icon13.gif nor DelMontehttp://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ons/icon13.gifhttp://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ons/icon13.gif

I had Portillo's in Chicago, on Ontario Street, they were pretty decent. But I prefer Cheese Kransky with Mustard. I like it simple. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/smile.gif

I put Russian mustard on my hot dogs.

xochgtlm 08-21-2009 09:21 PM

A Chicago-style hot dog:
Steamed poppy seed hot dog bun
All beef hot dog (steamed) (preferably Vienna Beef)
Yellow mustard
Chopped white onion (raw)
Neon green relish
Sport peppers
Tomato wedges
Crisp kosher dill pickle spear
Dash of celery salt[9]

or one with
mustard, onions, dill relish

or

chili con carne and chedder cheese

Ganoshenko 08-21-2009 11:01 PM

Gonna make me a couple of home made sedonas. The difference is I use guacamole instead of avocado and bacon bits instead of a slice of bacon.

deandrecooke 08-21-2009 11:36 PM

real, only ever real

Jim Gaffigan has a routine about bacon that is stupidly hilarious.
