I am! However I've lived in Edinburgh in the same flat since I was 6 year old (take away the one year I stayed in Holland), so I'm not of much use....

Brechin is fairly nice. About the same level as Montrose but up the A90 rather than the A92.

I'd recommend Priesthill, Glasgow.

How are you planning to travel? By car or train?

And whereabouts in Dundee/Aberdeen?

I'm Scottish born and bred.

Never been to Montrose though so can't help you much there. Anywhere outside Dundee is probably an improvement over Dundee itself though.

Dundee Uni isn't a problem it's a 10 minute walk from the train station, but where your girlfriend works in Aberdeen can make a big difference to travel time.

If she's in the centre, the trains are fine, in the south of Aberdeen, e.g., Altens/Tullos you would probably want to drive.

If she ends up getting a job in the north of Aberdeen you might want to move a bit closer.

The west of Aberdeen is OK to get to by car from Montrose.

Brechin isn't on the railway and if you are travelling by car to Aberdeen it doesn't make much difference compared to Montrose.
