It doesn't. I am actually capable of making the odd mistake - I know it is difficult to believe...

I would change it, but I can't and must forevermore live with my shame.

Abraham Lincoln - saved the country that so many of us Americans love today and revived our country's striving toward ideal of human equality.
Wasn't Lincoln just a war president?

First he actually failed to prevent the war, and secondly even GWB could not have failed to win against the South with the overwhelming resources available to the North.

Jefferson, because he extended the territory of the US by a massive amount. And it's great land too.

Another war president. And again, could have avoided war by not provoking Japan.

True though. Waited two years as America got rich from the war and the other nations weakened themselves, and then antagonised Japan. No wait, what a fantastic president!

You were strangling them through economic embargoes and sanctions - starving them of oil...

Too bad. If some dude down the street wants you to give him a dollare and you don't want to, so he blows up your house, that's ok? You should have given him the dollar.
We don't owe anyone anything. Period, end of discussion. Some country getting all pissy because we don't give them things is a little stupid, Moby.

The USA didn't think it was really happening. It was of such magnitude, and was so maniacal, that we couldn't believe it.

Bollocks!

They knew it was happening, it was just politically expedient to pretend it wasn't.

Why do you think the US bends over backwards to help Israel!? Guilt!

All the more reason to show FDR is not deserving of 'Greatest President'.

If I said Obama would somebody give me something solid to eat? I am contemplating killing and devouring squirrel. Things are bad. Otherwise my answer is George W. Bush , Ronald the reagan and George Washintgont.

Exactly. Some clown happened to be the figurehead when his subordinates did the dirty work.

Coolidge.

Why?

He ran for two terms, and left with a higher approval rating then when he started.
Jesus f*cking Christ-on-a-Crutch, is there anything -- anything, no matter how small or inconsequential -- you actually do know and/or won't lie about?

1) The ignorance: Coolidge ran for one term, in 1924.

2) The mendacity: There were no polls measuring presidential approval ratings when he left office in 1929; they were first conducted by George Gallup in the 1930s.

3) The only reasonable conclusion: If you really do have a history degree, both your alma mater and history majors everywhere should hang their heads in shame.
